1904 Yellowstone Park Bird's Eye Map - 12x18 inches.

The artist is Henry Wellge, 1850-1917. This is a rare 1904 bird's eye map of Yellowstone National Park looking south from the entrance in Gardiner, MT, toward the Teton Range. Wellge was known for his bird's eye views. This map predates aerial flight and is a rendition by the artist, using his imagination, of what the park would look like from above. This is a chromolithographic print that is reproduced in fine detail. It is one the most collectible YNP posters. Very few survive today because of the soft paper they were originally printed on.
