The theme this year in Yellowstone National park is "Wonderland." This is an 1885 travel brochure illustration titled Alice in the New Wonderland: Yellowstone National Park. This is the first in a series of Wonderland publications by the Northern Pacific Railroad (NPRR), circa 1885-1916. The names Yellowstone National Park and Wonderland became almost synonymous due to the publicity and marketing of the NPRR. We will offer two more early Wonderland posters this year to memorialize Yellowstone National Park as Wonderland.
